PATRICK KENNELLY writes, produces, directs, designs, and curates for film & video, theater, and the performance and visual arts. In his highly stylized and darkly surreal genre-infused works, Kennelly explores issues of social, cultural and personal identity and subjectivity.
Sigrid Gilmer makes black comedies that are historically bent, totally perverse, joyfully irreverent and are concerned with issues of identity, pop culture and contemporary American society. Her work has been performed at the Skylight Theatre, Pavement Group, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, Cornerstone Theater Company and Highways Performance Space. She is a winner of the Map Fund Creative Exploration Grant, the James Irving Foundation Fellowship and is a USA Ford Fellow in Theatre.
Recently Garcia produced ten minutes is two hours, a short-form documentary video shot in South Sudan. Garcia has been a fixture on the Los Angeles alternative performing arts scene for many years, one of a handful of artists who represent a fully developed, professional approach to multidisciplinary work. Garcia is the artistic director at Highways Performance Space where he has developed and presented over 600 performance works.
Dennis Garcia is the founder and executive producer of Walking to the Moon Productions (WMP), a production company dedicated to making short and feature-length documentary and narrative film & videos. WMP's inaugural project was "ten minutes is two hours," a short-form documentary about cultural exploitation in South Sudan. The film was released in 2013, after a successful festival run. Excess Flesh is WMP's inaugural narrative theatrical feature.
Benjamin Conley is a Cinematographer living in Los Angeles, CA. An avid traveler, Ben has lived in Hong Kong, Taiwan, London, Sydney and New York. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Ben is a graduate of UC Berkeley and was a captain on the Cal baseball team.
Liz Toonkel is a Los Angeles based artist working in theater, film and performance. Liz has designed numerous feature films and television shows and has worked with such acclaimed film directors as Catherine Hardwicke and Joe Swanberg. Her own personal video and performance work has been shown in galleries and film festivals all over the country. She believes in art.
Cristina Bercovitz is an editor/director/creator who has worked on many music videos including Get Up for rap trio clipping that was an official selection of the 17th Mecal International Short Film Festival. Cristina is also an award winning designer and puppeteer who's work has been featured on stage, film, and TV.
Jonathan Snipes is a composer and sound designer for Film and Theater living in Los Angeles. He is a member of the rap group clipping. Other recent film credits include Room 237, Starry Eyes, and The Nightmare.
Amanda Lee is an LA-based costume designer for performance, film, art and everything in between. Her latest work can be seen at the Woodstock Film Festival for the independent feature Bread and Butter with Bobby Moynihan, Eric Lange and Harry Groener. Her stage works include Trisha Brown's Set/Reset/Reset (RedCat), Theatre Movement Bazaar’s Hot Cat (Theatre of Note) and Fourlarks' opera Orpheus (The Getty Villa). She holds an MFA from CalArts and is currently assisting on a new comedy on FOX.
Jill Fogel has worked in beauty makeup for seventeen years. Her interest emerged incidentally when she began doing makeup for Phoenix-based friends, and she cultivated her skill as she began dabbling in zombie makeup for short films. It was not until she moved to Los Angeles that she learned everything she knows now about custom FX and prosthetics from some of the best in the business. Jill worked as the Key Makeup Artist for the indie feature, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night.
Simona Kessler is interested in enigmatic work that steps into the unknown and bring new meaning to the familiar. While in attendance at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, she has collaborated with Patrick Kennelly as co-producer at U-N-M-A-R-K-E-D, an independent production entity. In addition to her work on Excess Flesh, Simona recently production managed Liza, a feature by Academy Award-winning director Terry Sanders, and is co-founder/producer at Aporkalypse Productions with dir. Anna Zlokovic.
